Grades K - 2

Elementary age children are very active and eager participants when learning a new language. They are also at a critical stage in their language development, so it is important to provide them with opportunities to learn in a fun and engaging way.

Our homeschool and after school classes are a great way for elementary age children to learn a new language. By offering a small group learning environment, we provide each child with the individual attention they need to succeed. We also tailor the instruction to the specific needs and interests of the group.

The practical conversation, high-impact learning games, targeted letter recognition and spelling activities, and music and visual aids that we incorporate into our classes are all important components of language learning.

Here are some specific tips for teaching elementary age children a new language:

  • Make it fun! Children are more likely to learn and retain information if they are having fun. Use games, songs, and other activities to make learning the language enjoyable.

  • Be creative. Use a variety of teaching methods and activities to keep children engaged.

  • Be patient. It takes time for children to learn a new language. Don't get discouraged if they don't understand everything right away.

  • Provide opportunities for practice. Children need opportunities to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the new language. We provide these opportunities by playing games, singing songs, reading stories, and writing letters.

  • Encourage creativity. We encourage children to be creative with the language and let them make up their own songs, poems, and stories.
