Tribú Team
Our Philosophy:
Over the years, we have come to realize that there isn't only one approach to education, just like there isn't only one approach to learning. Different students have different interests and learning styles, and just because a particular technique works with one person, that doesn’t mean it will work with everyone. That's why, as educators, we have learned to be pragmatic and follow a diverse approach to education, tailoring it specifically to each student's individual needs and interests. We follow a language based program, enriched by global and community awareness and cultural sensitivity. At Tribú we embrace diversity and we teach our students to cherish their differences and embrace their heritage.
Ms. Angie Peña
Founder, Director
BA Spanish, M.Ed., Crosscultural Education, BCLAD
Tribú Global Learning Academy was born out of Angie's passion for language and culture. Channeling her educational background and her love of language and culture, Angie decided to create a space where families can learn and play together in a safe space.
Angie's career began as a teacher in LAUSD, where she taught in the bilingual program for over 8 years. She is a credentialed bilingual instructor in California with a M.Ed. in Bi-Cultural Education. However, after having her fourth child, she chose to stay home to raise her own bilingual babies. Seeing the lack of language classes for children in the area, Angie started tutoring out of her home in 2010. This is where "Tribu" was formed.
Angie enjoys spending time with her 5 children, extended family, and friends, traveling the world, working out and yoga to stay active.
